A Monday morning in April 2012: Thomas has his first day at work with us. He introduces himself and is greeted by CEO Rüdiger Berndt. Suddenly his smartphone rings. He pushes the call away, but it rings again and again.

Finally, Thomas answers and talks on the phone for almost ten minutes. Then he comes back – and quits.

We don’t know exactly what he learned in the phone call. In any case, he was supposed to return to northern Germany to take over the family pub. And he did. – Thomas remained an exception.

If you start at Oxford Computer Group GmbH, you stay. And those who stay are passionate about IT services and Identity and Access Management (IAM).

So did Rüdiger Berndt, who was one of the few real IAM experts at the time. In 2004, he founded the German branch of the Oxford Computer Group (OCG).

Although OCG was already internationally positioned early on and had customers all over the world, it became increasingly clear to her: “This is very clearly a people business,” says Berndt.

Proximity to the customer is and remains crucial. And so Rüdiger Berndt still travels to customers in person today, advising, supporting and implementing.
