Anyone who continues to operate the MIM Portal beyond July 2026 will be using a central IAM component without manufacturer support \u2013 with corresponding risks for stability, security and auditability. <\/p><p><strong>The migration to IDABUS is therefore not purely a technical modernisation, but a strategically necessary decision to secure your IAM landscape.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-76a1694 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"76a1694\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Your previous investments will be retained<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-27da155 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"27da155\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>We are aware that many organisations have made considerable investments in the MIM Portal over the years \u2013 in:<\/p><ul><li>Role and authorisation concepts<\/li><li>approval workflows<\/li><li>Data models and object structures<\/li><li>Customised adjustments and processes<br><br><\/li><\/ul><p>However, switching to IDABUS does not mean <strong>losing these investments.<\/strong><\/p><p>IDABUS was designed to allow existing structures to be transferred.<br>With our specially developed <strong>migration tool<\/strong>, configurations, workflows, role models and data can be transferred to IDABUS in a largely automated process.<\/p><p>So you retain:<\/p><p>\u2714 Your proven processes<br>\u2714 Your technical concepts<br>\u2714 Your organisational logic<\/p><p>And win at the same time:<\/p><p>\u2714 A modern, fully supported platform<br>\u2714 Technological independence from SharePoint<br>\u2714 A long-term stable foundation for your identity and access management<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1a184c4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"1a184c4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Important note: MIM Sync will continue to be supported for the time being.<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-cb3dc88 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"cb3dc88\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>A common misunderstanding concerns the <strong>MIM synchronisation service (MIM Sync).<\/strong><\/p><p>This is not directly affected by SharePoint. Microsoft offers extended support for <strong>MIM 2016 until 9 January 2029.<\/strong> <\/p><p>This means:<br>The synchronisation engine can continue to be operated even if the portal is migrated. This means that there is no immediate pressure to take action to replace it completely in one step. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d9778cf elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d9778cf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Strategic outlook: IDABUS Sync from the end of 2027<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c7a02ab elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c7a02ab\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>However, we are already thinking ahead.<\/p><p>OCG is currently developing its own <strong>IDABUS Sync component<\/strong>, which will be available at the <strong>end of 202<\/strong>7. This will enable us to completely transfer the synchronisation layer to the IDABUS world in the medium term. <\/p><p>The aim is to create a comprehensive platform:<\/p><ul><li>without Microsoft legacy dependencies<\/li><li>without SharePoint connection<\/li><li>with clear technological prospects for the future<br><br><\/li><\/ul><p>Here, too, we rely on a structured, loss-free migration process so that existing connectors, logic (MA and MV extensions) and synchronisation rules can be transferred, thereby protecting existing investments.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3232743 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3232743\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Our recommended approach: gradual modernisation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f426065 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f426065\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In our experience, a <strong>step-by-step<\/strong> approach is the safest and most economically sensible strategy:<\/p><p><strong>Phase 1 (until July 2026):<\/strong><br>Migration from the MIM portal to IDABUS \u2013 to safeguard against the end of SharePoint.<\/p><p><strong>Phase 2 (modernisation):<\/strong><br>As IDABUS has significantly more functionality than MIM, a consolidation or modernisation phase is recommended.<\/p><p><strong>Phase 3 (from the end of 2027):<\/strong><br>Planned migration from MIM Sync to IDABUS Sync.<\/p><p>This approach offers clear advantages:<\/p><ul><li>Minimised project risk<\/li><li>Predictable budget allocation<\/li><li>No \u201cBig Bang\u201d scenario<\/li><li>Technical stability during transformation<\/li><li>Protection of all previous investments<br><br><\/li><\/ul><p>This creates a modern, future-proof IAM architecture \u2013 without unnecessary time pressure, but with a clear strategic direction.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-248d78b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"248d78b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title
